  • Trim the wick to ¼ inch before every burn. This helps prevent soot, smoke, and an oversized flame.
  • Let the wax melt all the way to the edges on the first burn. This helps prevent tunneling and keeps your candle burning evenly.
  • Don't burn for more than 4 hours at a time. Give your candle a little break before lighting it again.
  • Keep it away from drafts. Fans, open windows, and air vents can cause uneven burning.
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from kids, pets, curtains, and anything flammable.
  • Stop burning when about ½ inch of wax remains. Burning it all the way down can overheat the jar.
  • Let the wax cool completely before moving or relighting.

Tunneling usually happens when a candle isn't burned long enough for the melted wax to reach the edges of the jar. On your first burn, give it enough time to create an even melt pool across the surface.

How should I safely burn my candle?

Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface and keep it away from drafts, children, pets, and anything flammable. Never leave a burning candle unattended, and don't burn it for more than 4 hours at a time.
When should I stop burning my candle?

It's time to say goodbye when about ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the jar. Continuing to burn past this point can cause the container to become excessively hot.
My candle arrived damaged. What should I do?
